Hello!

Hello everyone.

This blog has been created as a part of UO AEI Webskills course. I am very happy to be one of the participants and I am looking foward to learning from my teachers as well as from my colleagues from all around the world.

As the title says this is my interactive journey. I hope I will learn a lot, but I also hope to share my own knowledge and maybe help some of the participants with the web tools I am familiar with.

I have created three pages. The main page is for my reflections on the course, the second one is my own personal task to learn more about Oregon and the third one is my wish to introduce you to my country.

Since I have recently discovered Sliderocket I decided to share my story with you using this tool. To be honest, I do not like writing long essays and I'm not good at it either, so I always add a picture or a video to make it more interesting. p.s. This presentation includes audio, too.

  1. Marija, this is great! I love you blog, the pages on Oregon and Serbia (wow - the food and the photography are both wonderful!).

It looks like you have plenty to teach us about using technology!

    1. WOW the first comment! I'm so glad you liked it!! I was just about to add a new post, when I saw a new comment notification.

Well I do have experience with some web tools but I still have a lot to learn. However, if anyone needs any help regarding the blog, sliderocket or anything, please do not hesistate to ask me.

Feel free to leave a voicemail, too :)

  2. I love your blog!!! I agree with Jodi: You can teach us a lot about technology.

I had not heard about Sliderocket. The closest to Sliderocket that I am familiar with is Prezi at prezi.com which is an on-line application to create interactive presentations. I'm sure you already know about it!!!

I look forward to reading your future entries!!!

  3. Dear Sandra,

Thank you very much! :) I hope we can all learn from each other. For instance, the first thing I learned from you is that I can set a picture, a small icon, so that it doesn't show a default one when I post a comment.

Sliderocket is my recent discovery and there is still a lot to explore. As for Prezi, I've heard about it, I've seen how it works, but I never fell in love with its non-linear style. Maybe I will in the future, you never know.

I have just added a new entry, so feel free to comment.

  4. Hello, Marija

Apart from being in the same class, we are neighbors too! For those you don't know, I would like to say that our countries are close, so I am familiar with the life in Serbia and I often go to Belgrade. I have so many relatives and friends all over Serbia. Also, I enjoyed in all this food you had presented!

I must say that I was fascinated with you blog since I had never used this web tool before. I can see that apart from your technology skills, you are very creative- that's something I lack sometimes :-)

I have one question for you. How do I make different pages? You have created 3 separated pages (Home, Oregon, Serbia)?

  5. Hello Bojana,
I'm glad you dropped by and even more glad you left a comment. Thank you very much. Although it may seem to many of you that I am very experienced in this, the truth is somewhere in the middle. I just spend hours clicking settings, changing design, experimenting. Thanks God there are ready-made designs on Blogger, because I'm not good with colours.

I have never been in Bosnia, but I hope I will visit your beautiful country one day. If it happens that you’re in Belgrade and I have some seminar there, I would like to meet you.

Now let’s see about those pages on a blog. When you go to the dashboard or settings, you will see several options: posts, pages, design.. Look for the one that says “pages”. It’s the third one from the top. There you can add more pages, but be careful, there’s a little card that says: do not show pages, show them on the top, side pages. Be careful and choose the second one or the third one if you prefer side pages.
If I wasn’t clear enough please contact me again I will send some screenshots to make it easier to you.
One more thing I would like to point out to everyone and to our teachers. I never switch any website or its settings to Serbian, my mother tongue, I even followed the instructions and set English as a blog language, but it seems Google or whatever keeps making changes by following my location. The same goes for Facebook. A minute you register from one country, it offers you its language and then you keep struggling to keep English.

  6. I have forgot an important step. First you go to setting then to design. Then you add a gadget called pages and then you follow the steps from my previous reply. I think I better make the instructions. I will do it in the next few hours.
